  • 1.  Looking for an online book club discussion tool

    Posted 11-14-2023 09:45

We do a 6th grade family read event every year where our parents log on with our students and participate in a book discussion online.

We have been using Padlet, but It's challenging to know who you are talking to with only one comment thread line in the discussion, and no alerts when someone responds to your comments. Our teachers would prefer to have something like a three line comment thread option (responding to a comment on a comment for example).
Does anyone have a better tool? We need something simple (where a QR code can take the parents to the discussion), hopefully free and easy to use for our teachers and parents (no extensive log in or account creation).
    Thanks in advance!

I would think Google Spaces would be a good format. We've used it for discussion and assignment tool for master's classes. (It isn't as strong as Currents was). It allows you to create topics and threads. Notifications are strong and can be adjusted and you can add files, video, links, etc.
